imperialist power is using psychological warfare to destroy the revolutionary warfare throughout the world. This thrust to destroy the revolutionary movement is increasing with the increase in the economic crisis of the imperialist finance capital. For this it is increasingly using psychological weapon of warfare. This is true particularity because of the dominance of post-modernism as ideology and rapid growth of decadent Neo-liberal consumption culture in our societies. The recent surrender of Sonu an ex-PB member is to be seen in continuation of psychological warfare by the enemy.
A photo came in the media on 15th of October, 2025. In that Sonu is smiling while he surrenders his AK-47 to the fascist BJP-RSS representative Maharashtra CM, a man who is responsible for the martyrdom of comrade Milind and thousands of our comrades and people at large. This photo was widely circulated and the ruling classes boasted about their virtual ideological victory over Marxism-Leninism-Maoism (MLM). The smile which the photo seeks to express is basically an expression that has bloomed anger among the people and the revolutionary communist camps of the country and the world. This photo will go down in the history of the communist movement as the photo of a renegade to the working class cause; who throughout his life tried to deceive the people by claiming that he will try to establish a new state of the oppressed and exploited by smashing the current Indian state. But the act of deceiving could not be carried on for long. This petty bourgeoisie intellectual element within the revolutionary camp got exposed when his first letter came out in the media the first letter along with a 22 page document which has the fate of a toilet paper in the history of communist movement. These documents manifests the petty bourgeoisie journey within the party. Though this petty bourgeoisie traveled with the proletariat for a long duration yet the pettiness of the petty bourgeoisie remain unchanged. A petty bourgeoisie in revolution said comrade Lenin “joined the labor movement mainly in the hope of an early triumph of the bourgeois-democratic revolution, and were not able to withstand the period of reaction. Their instability was revealed both in theory (“retreat from revolutionary Marxism”: the resolution on the present situation) and in tactics (the “curtail- met of slogans”), as well as in the domain of the organizational policy of the Party.”
This clearly expresses the complete picture of SonuDa, who remained a hero until he had large pool of support base but lost his nerve when tough times came before the party. A friend in need is friend indeed. Sonu is not the friend of the people. For long he was hiding behind the revolutionary people of DK, who not just protected him but provided all he needed, the party and the people nurtured him throughout the years, he did not die because many of our brave comrades laid down their lives to protect a man who was masquerading as a revolutionary. Sonu was with the state from sometimes before his actual surrender. Through him the state was trying to make the whole party surrender the armed struggle and join the so called mainstream (joining the mainstream means making the party open and legal). Since Sonu was a PB member therefore it was expected that he would make the party open and legal. But our party spoiled the plans of the ruling class. Comrade Raju Da, Kosa Da and other comrades not just exposed his political line but also took organizational action on him. When this representative of the ruling class failed in his task to destroy the party from inside, he did what best he was capable of doing. He lastly surrendered with weapons and some de-motivated cadres.
The story behind the surrender begins when the Sonu under the name Abhay released audio file, and an appeal to the revolutionary people that was widely circulated in print, electronic and digital media. The appeal said that ‘In view of the changed international and domestic situation, and in view of the appeals being made by the Prime Minister, the Home Minister and the top police officers to lay down arms and join the flow of life, we have decided to lay down arms,’. He also said that this is part of the efforts made by our party’s late General Secretary Amarudu Comrade Basavaraj for peace talks. This brings us to an important point, the point where the party was actively negotiating for peace talk. The peace talk with the state as envisaged by comrade GS is a tactics to further the task of NDR and it should never be a class compromise to liquidate the party, to demolish its illegal existence or to deviate from the armed struggle line as laid down by comrade CM and KC. But for Sonu the ruling class perspective of peace is aimed for while he call for peace talk. For him the peace talk is laying down of arms. Peace talk
became a cover which the ruling class and its Brahmanical fascist Indian goverment provided to the liquidators like Sonu Da. With the cover of the peace talk, Sonu, the leader of liquidators ensured that many of the comrades surrender their arms and sit in the laps of the ruling classes. It is reported that around 60 comrades along with 54 arms surrendered under the leadership of Sonu the traitor.
This surrender with arms came at times when on 20th September two CC level comrades who got martyred namely com. Raju Da and com. Kosa Da released a statement on behalf of the PB, CC and DKSZC asserting that “It is not our policy to betray the interests of the people by surrendering weapons to the enemy and joining the mainstream. Our duty is to continue the class struggle – the people’s war – to advance the revolutionary movement in accordance with the changed social situation.” through this document the party also took action against the Sonu and demoted him from the spokesperson post. The statement also said that if Sonu wants to surrender then he is free to do it but he should not take the weapons with him but despite the party order he took the weapons in large numbers and gave it to the enemy forces. The hard earned weapons of the PLGA which were collected at the cost of the blood of our martyrs was surrender by the peoples enemy Sonu to the state. With what face will he face the Adivasi masses of DK? What answer will he give to the mother and father of the martyrs who under his command laid down their lives? This shameless murderous pig of the ruling class is hell bent upon smashing the peoples armed movement in DK.
He is busy creating split in committees, when his attempt were futile in the CC and PB he moved to the SZC level there he could influence opportunist like Rupesh alias Satish who lead 20 comrade of his division to surrender; instead of calling this surrender Rupesh in his interview to the Bastar Talkies is saying that this is a form of struggle and that they under Sonu leaadership will lead open and legal struggle from now. He himself added that this decision to join mainstream is not taken in any committee. If this is not liquidationism then what is it? He shamelessly calls it saving the party. Lenin said attack on the illegal nature of the party that is on its underground nature
is an attack on the party. Sonu liquidated the party in the name of preserving the party. This is crude opportunism. A smaller version of it we saw in Sumit- Sahil, we saw how he was trying to pursue comrade to leave ug live and get open. Is not Sonu the same? Why did Sumit-Sahil liquidated? And why is Sonu doing this? To save their lives, to get a handsome money, a big house where he and his surrendered wife would live a ‘happy life’. The desire to live the life of the ruling class is build on smashing the hope of the world proletariat. Hence for anyone who want to lead the mainstream life will become liquidator.
It is also important to note that the Indian Express newspaper dated 15th October, wherein it has been said that Anil played a vital role. The newspaper report also claimed that Anil wrote a letter to the renegade Sonu asking him to join him in Gadchiroli. The letter which the Indian express quotes said that “We do not want a sensitive and true intellectual to die”. Sonu is the ruling class intellectual and is sensitive to the need of the ruling classes and not to the oppressed and the exploited classes. The question is who is this Anil? In 2024 Anil alias Ashin alias Gagan alias Narender`s primary membership was dismissed due to anarchism in him. Later on he along with his wife Sonia alias Anju had surrendered before the enemy in 20 October 2025. The concerned Zonal Committee had brought a circular against him and exposed this traitor before the party cadres. In order to preserve their flesh and grow as a middle class they betrayed the people and the party. Anil was the most active left phrase-monger inside the party. Seemingly he was the most active propagandist on the ug line, he even openly and severely criticized the then leadership on this.
We all saw how in one of the plenum he started crying while remembering the martyrs of our area. What was the cry for? It was basically to hide the ruling class ideological domination in him. He was basically waiting for a moment to get out of the party and join the ruling class camp. That moment came up when the party took action against him for his anarchist activities. Now the state is using this traitor to build a larger unity of the liquidators. Comrade Lenin had warned us that opportunists are the ruling class elements in the revolutionary movement. This stands true in our times too, Anil and
Sonu the ruling class representatives were hiding behind the red slogans. And the state intelligentsia worked to get these liquidators united. Anil who after surrendering was at Gadchiroli, the state called Sonu at Gadchiroli; this is nothing but attempt to unite the liquidators for the sake of destroying the party. Today for the cause of protecting the reactionary state and the classes which it represents, Sonu-Balraj-Anil-Sumit-Sahil stands united in their attacks on our party, plga, united front.
Sonu is the ideological and political leader of the opportunist-liquidator- revisionist elements within and outside the party. His political ideological outlook is expressed in the 22 paged document, his letters and the statements which he released. He said “At least now, the only remaining task before the party is to abandon the dogmatic practice of the Chinese and Russian lines, regardless of the changes in circumstances and time, and to strive to make the Indian revolution victorious in a line suitable to the time and place of India.” To this the party CC replied by saying that “he rejects armed struggle, and the path he wants to follow is the parliamentary path. That is why it would be Prachanda-style Neo-revisionism.” Clearly it implies that the party has been undergoing an intense struggle against the opportunist and liquidators within the party. In concerned zone too, the Zonal Committee is leading an intense struggle against the opportunist-liquidator-revisionist elements within and outside the party. In our draft POR too we have identified the present period as the struggle period against the liquidators. Similar is the situation in CC, besides waging a relentless struggle against operation Surajkund policy our CC is also waging a very serious struggle against the opportunist and liquidators. The Central Committee Press Release of September 20, 2025 is a very important document, it re-establishes the commitment of the party to remain united on the Leninist path of party building.
The style of statement is as sharp and straight as in accordance with the political line which our party had laid down in the 9th Congress. Its essence is same as comrade Mao’s quotation, “He who is not afraid of death by a thousand cuts dare to unhorse the emperor, when we fight for socialism and communism, we must display this kind of dauntless spirit.” In the very same spirit the CC press release of 20th September said that “deciding to lay down
arms and go for peace talks is contrary to the theory of Marxism- Leninism- Maoism and our political-military line. Laying down arms means handing them over to the enemy, surrendering to the enemy. Surrendering weapons to the enemy and ceasing the armed struggle in the name of a temporary ceasefire means that the revolutionary party will become a revisionist party. Surrendering weapons to the enemy means betraying the martyrs and the broad masses of the country (oppressed classes, oppressed social groups, oppressed races). This is a blatant modern revisionism and revolutionary betrayal. Therefore, we demand that party members, party committees at all levels, party members in prison, party leaders and revolutionary sympathizers strongly condemn the revolutionary betrayal of Sonu, who is preparing to surrender to the enemy by surrendering weapons to the enemy.” If the recent media reports of the people sympathetic to our movement are to believe, Sonu is the cause behind the martyrdom of GS, Raju Da, Kosa Da and many other comrades who had been unwavering following the path of PPW. Raju Da and Kosa Da were the one who brought the statement on behalf of CC condemning Sonu, therefore it is most likely that Sonu could have managed a plot to get them martyred.
Comrades, it is also important to understand the line which the renegades are taking in order to hide their cowardliness and shamelessness. The points which these renegades are raising can be summarized under the following points:-
- The political-economic condition of the country has changed
- Applying Chinese or Russian line in India is dogmatism.
- The party had been the victim of left deviation due to which armed struggle had been made as the only form of struggle
- Parliamentary participation can be a part of the revolutionary struggle.
Has not all these questions already being settled in our party? Has not Prachanda raised the similar question? But we will once again revisit these questions. Our party in a recent document titled ‘Changes in production relation’ has explained the changes in economic and political condition of the country. Not only did the party analyzed the changes, it also added two more regions in the list of 5 regions:- one where plantation is largely present and
the another in which due to globalization and our struggle semi colonial aspect is dominating. With this the document, party devised several specific tactics to carry forward the struggle for NDR. But still debates persists because whenever the petty bourgeoisie existence inside the party feels threatened by the revolutionary commitment of proletariat because the proletariat demands more sacrifice from the petty bourgeoisie, at such time the petty bourgeoisie comes out with some random theory that historically, irrespective of the place of its origin has trailed on the line of the great revisionist Bernstein who revised comrade Marx and Engels and wanted to turn the revolutionary theory of smashing state power from the ruling class into a reformist theory of class compromise. Sonu represents the same Bernstein but in new form and color.
With immortal contribution of comrade CM and comrade KC the Indian communist movement could come out of the mire of modern revisionism who in the name of following the Indian path actually carried forward the ideology of Khrushchev revisionism of peaceful class struggle and peaceful coexistence. Comrades CM and KC established that the path for the liberation of the Indian people is the path laid down by comrade Mao and since India like China is semi-colonial semi-feudal, Indian revolution shall follow the Chinese path, this understanding was based on the concrete analysis of the China’s experience in revolutionary warfare and the history of the revolutions in colonial, semi-colonial, semi-feudal countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America. In all these countries the main form of struggle is armed struggle and the main form of organization is the army, but other forms of mass struggles and mass organizations are also indispensable. Considering this fact our party in Strategy and Tactics underlines that “Before the outbreak of a war all organization and struggle are in preparation for the war and will serve it directly or indirectly after war breaks out. The path followed by the Chinese revolution is also applicable in semi-colonial, semi- feudal India due to basic similarities in the conditions between India and pre- revolutionary China. It is the principal characteristics of the objective conditions of India that determine the Path of the Indian Revolution as the path of protracted people’s war.” The question of path comes only when a country gains revolutionary experience of establishing proletariat dictatorship
in some form or the other. Based on that a generalization can be made and it then become a general law which can be applied anywhere under similar conditions. Therefore the talks of ‘Indian path’ is a hoodwink. A plea to leave the path laid down by heroic sacrifice of people in pre-revolution semi- colonial semi-feudal China. It is a plea to lay down arms and sing in the praise of the imperialist masters. It is nothing but right opportunism. The opportunist and revisionist always use the slogan of struggle against left deviation as a method to debunk the correct proletarian line within the party. It is important to remember that the cause for the set backs in our movement has been analyzed by our PB and a circular up-to the level of ZC was released. In Toto the document presents following reasons for the setback:-
- Inability to correctly assess the attacks unleashed by the enemy and plan new methods.
- Not being able to build party among the workers and the newly emerging middle class.
- Presence of non-proletarian trends like economism, legalism and subjectivism within the party and army on large scale; in this immoral offenses related to man woman relationship has also been mentioned.
- Not being able to practice ug party building theory. That is, in theory we adapted ug party building but our functioning remained open or semi-open.
- Presence of right deviation in our party in some regions; that did not go for ug party building thinking that when one goes ug mass movement will get compromised.
No where in this document there is any mention of left deviation. Because if we consider the period when the party gave the call for consolidation in 2019 to the present times when the party is facing very severe setback; we as a party had been struggling against the rightist trend of not building ug party, restricting the party to legal and open work. It was with the intention to break this practice that the consolidation program was undertaken and the martyred comrade GS wrote a letter to the North India comrades. It is not that party was not building open legal mass movement, DK is an example of it. We have been building huge mass movement against the camps. Similarly in other parts of the country our party had been leading open struggles against
CAA and 3 farm laws. There is no objectivity in the points which Sonu is raising. Sonu has not presented a single incidence of left deviation in the party.
The party has used legal and open method of struggle to further NDR. But what this opportunist liquidationist and revisionist elements want is that the party should stop giving priority to armed struggle and ug existences. This plea is a step toward completely deviating from the path of armed struggle and surrendering to the enemy as Satyanarayan Singh once did in 1977, he was the open traitor of the Naxalbari line. Similarly Sonu is now the open traitor of the same line but in a different century. Despite all these attacks our party remains firm on the line laid down by comrade Mao, that “War is the main form of struggle and army is the main form of organization. Other forms such as the mass organization and mass struggle are also extremely important and indeed indispensable and in no circumstances to be overlooked, but their purpose is to serve the war. Before the outbreak of war, all organization and struggle are in preparation for war….After the war breaks out, all the organizations and struggles are coordinated with the war directly or indirectly.” Therefore for a communist revolutionary you are either in the war or you are preparing for it. But for a renegade enemy agent like Sonu, Anil, Balraj and others you are either busy in sabotaging a preparation for war or is actively involved in killing the revolutionaries. His story is same as Deepak Vishwas, who had conspired with the state to get comrade Charu arrested that lead to his martyrdom. 2-3 months after the martyrdom of comrade CM, he was killed by a party member.
All he want is to surrender before the enemy in the interest of living a ruling class life. And for this he has presented the Prachanda theory, a theory which had been well rejected by our two erstwhile parties PW and MCC. The fate of the Prachanda path is clearly exposed in the popular revolt lead by the youth in Nepal. The youth protest has to be seen as the genuine anger of the people against the social fascist revisionist forces who tread the Prachanda path. Prachanda used the quantitative changes in the production relations in Nepal as the pretext to devise the fusion theory; this theory said that we should not rigidly follow Chinese or Russian path. Instead in accordance with the
changes in social and economic life of people we must pick from both what suit Nepal better. This theory suggested that insurrection line along with PPW line needs to be fused together. For this entire struggle was demarcated in two separate phase:- an anti feudal phase and an anti-imperialist phase. It was said that anti feudal stage has been over and now the phase is of anti- imperialist struggle. Therefore in the name of new struggle; armed struggle and base area building process was given up. Whoever understands political economy knows that Imperialism in a semi-colonial semi-feudal society does not operate in isolation from the existing feudal order rather it adjusts with it. Hence any talks on feudalism is incomplete without linking it with imperialism similarly one can not build anti imperialist struggle without building an anti feudal struggle along with it. But this Prachanda theory was hailed by the ruling classes.
What in essence is the Prachanda path? It is the path of liquidationism. It is the theoretical and political plea to run away from the fields of armed struggle and sit in the laps of the ruling classes. Like Prachanda, Sonu has been saying that the old methods of war is futile and that PPW is not the option. Prachand merged the people army with the army of the reactionary state and thereby left the peoples struggle, similarly Sonu the brother of Prachanda along with 60 cadres and 54 weapons is with this state. We must remember the words of comrade Azad, who said that “Overall, the decision of the CPN(Maoist) to dissolve the revolutionary people‘s governments in the countryside and to merge the PLA with the reactionary army will unfold an irreversible process of losing all the revolutionary gains achieved till now.” Sonu wanted our party to do this, but the party who have had comrades like Azad as its leader the enemy’s dream of converting the party into one of its another tool will remain unfulfilled. Sonu hold the constitution of India. This is similar to the vow by Prachanda to abide by the rule of law at place in feudal Nepal and abide by the multi-party so called democratic system.
In an interview to The Hindu newspaper Prachanda said “If you feel the Naxalite movement in India is a problem for you, we feel we are trying to deal with the problems in Nepal in a new way, so if you release our comrades and we are successful in establishing multi-party democracy in Nepal, this
will be a very big message for the Naxalite movement in India. In other words, the ground will be readied for them to think in a new political way. Words are not enough; we need to validate what we are saying by establishing that democracy.” Since then the ruling class has used Prachanda`s this statement as an example to sabotage the revolutionary movement lead by our party. Besides the Prachanda theory has come to aid to all those who want to leave the revolutionary struggle and go into the camp of the ruling class. If Sonu`s liquidationism is traced one will find that initially he was saying that the party should call for temporary ceasefire, that is for some temporary period party should stop armed struggle along with it he also said that the party should join the mainstream that is it must become legal open. Is not this opportunist method same as that of Prachanda`s opportunist method. Prachanda was initially saying that PPW should be combined with insurrection but landed in the ruling class camp. From temporary ceasefire to complete surrender Sonu has exposed his true color and has left a lesson for the communist revolutionaries; the lesson is to carry forward a thorough struggle against opportunism-liquidationism and revisionism.
The Prachanda-neo-revisionism theory begins with the understanding that imperialism and feudalism are apart from each other and are not connected with one another. The understanding that imperialism has two vehicle in India one is the big landlord and the other big bourgeois is based on the history of political economy, imperialism could sustain itself only because of feudalism, similarly feudalism retained itself in new forms due to imperialism. But some comrade have this wrong understanding that imperialism is leading and will reach the point where it will break the feudal requirements for its growth. Such comrades then start formulating that imperialism is separate from feudalism and that imperialism is the principal contradiction of the Indian society. This understanding becomes the starting point to reach the Prachanda line. There is another formulation that tries to differentiate between Imperialism and Comprador Bureaucratic Bourgeoisie (CBB), they say that CBB is different from Imperialism, that CBB is developing sharply and is leading the Indian state. They say that CBB is more
powerful and hence principal contradiction in the Indian society should be that of CBB.
As regards the question of the position of the CBB and the feudal classes in the Indian state, it would be relevant to take a brief look at the statement at the Seventh Congress of the CPI (M) held in 1964: “The present Indian state is an organisation of capitalists and landlords, which is led by the big bourgeoisie” The logic that was made the basis of this formulation was that the Indian big bourgeoisie is the main vehicle of imperialism; it emerged as an influential class in power by acquiring tremendous wealth and power after coming to power in 1947. Only after defeating the revisionist and neo- revisionist lines on the question of CBB being principal contradiction, could Naxalbari take place, only then could a new chapter commence in the history of the communist revolutionary movement of India, and a qualitative leap be taken. It was Naxalbari that ascertained with clarity that the big bourgeoisie of India is not “Indian” by any means, and that its role in the Indian state is nothing but that of a running dog of imperialism and an ally of feudalism. In the modern revisionist formulation by CPM, the role of the feudal and landlords was simply overlooked. The modern revisionist used to say that feudalism if present will only be a remnant. Even today, this trend can be found in some way or the other in the analysis of the class character of the Indian state.
Ever since the consolidation of feudalism in Gupta period to the present day, the social basis of our country is feudalism, on this base stands imperialism. In the language of Marx and Mao, we may say that here too imperialism has made feudalism its main prop; imperialism protects feudalism and tries to make it everlasting. Thus Indian society is a semi-colonial semi-feudal society. In such a situation, when imperialism-feudalism hold sway over the Indian society, and feudalism acts as the basis, as the main prop, then how is it possible that with both imperialism and feudalism said to be in the state system, the CBB, leaving them lagging behind, dominates over them and retains the status of leadership. Secondly, should we take into consideration the number and influence of representatives of feudal classes in comparison to those of the CBB, we would find more representatives of the feudal-
landlord class in Parliament, Vidhan Sabhas and bureaucracy. In their elections, although the CBB do play a role by way of funds, yet here too it is imperialism that plays the main role and feudalism the principal role, we all know that feudal caste system and the nexus between sarpanch-contractor- politican determine the election game. Thus, both feudal ruling classes and the CBB have joint dictatorship in the state and feudalism is the principal contradiction in the society.
When it is said that CBB is leading the state then it is akin to saying that feudalism has been weakened due to CBB capital. That means CBB that is Imperialism is progressive. And according to this the form of struggle which remains for the communist is to participate in election and join the legal stream and make the party open. This is same as the liquidationist of the Lenin’s time; Larin the great liquidationist said that Russia has grown capitalist and feudalism does not remained anymore hence every work by the communist should be open and legal.
